About The Pearl

History of The Pearl

The original part of the farmhouse was built in 1940. It sits atop a hill overlooking downtown Nashville to the south and a rolling green hillside to the north. It primarily served as a family home and has undergone a few additions and renovations over its lifetime. Situated just a few minutes away from downtown, it has the perfect balance of accessible city living and countryside respite. Today, after 85 years, this farmhouse has transformed into something totally new.

Transforming The Pearl

The idea to transform this home was borne out of a time of love, loss, and grief. After losing her mother, the owner of The Pearl recognized the need for restorative spaces where people could grow, re-center, and find peace without the noise of everyday life. She wanted to turn her grief into something beautiful for others by creating a peaceful retreat for those needing an escape. Knowing how special her mother's former home and the surrounding area are, there could be no better place to provide peace, care, and comfort. However, it had been a while since the home was updated. It was time for the farmhouse to enter a new era.

A New Era

After a full renovation, The Pearl is ready to make her introduction. The renovation brought the natural beauty that surrounds the home harmoniously into the space. You will see themes throughout The Pearl of the natural world. You will see the inspiration from the sky, trees and plants, birds and butterflies, and natural textures. The house can now sleep up to 12 people and has 3.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen, a bar, a sunroom, and a pool.

The final piece of the transformation was giving the home a name. The Pearl pays homage to its former matriarch, with the name deriving from fond memories of her husband (the current owner's father) affectionately using it as a nickname for his spouse.

It is our sincerest hope that all of our guests feel comforted by this home and leave feeling better than they entered it. We want to make your big moments more memorable, your journeys more beautiful, and your healing more peaceful. We can't wait to welcome you to The Pearl.
